Clarification on Slide 18: Student Disability Services (SDS): Register on time

Our strong suggestion to register with Student Disability Services (SDS) on time is practical advice and not legal advice. Celiac disease is a disability and is legally covered under the ADA regardless of this registration. However, it is in your best interests to register with SDS to clearly define your required accommodations and increase the school’s accountability.  Although you can register at any time, it is unlikely to expect housing accommodations, for example, if you have missed the housing accommodation deadline or time to make up work after gluten exposure, if you haven’t made arrangements ahead of time.

GFF College Dining Survey responses come directly from students and do not reflect the viewpoints or opinions of Gluten Free Friends.
